About this Website
Hello.
This site is all about the fictitious story of the U-46, a boat and war career created through the wonder of game technology.
In this case, the story of the U-46 and the crew that sail in her, are both the figment of my imagination, but also the semi-reality of what really happens to her during the course of her career in the the game that is Silent Hunter III.
In the latter sense they are very real, there may well be no happy ending; and I have tried to describe what life must have been like on on one of those boats in the Battle of the Atlantic.
I am British, and also a loyal servant of my Queen and Country.
Noone nor any events, depicted, either alive or dead, are meant to be portrayed in this site, as having happened in the war.
Nor do I hold any allegiance at all to the terrible motives behind a War which had many villains, but many more heroes on both sides who fought and perished in those years.
This is just the story of one such boat, the U-46, fairly randomly assigned with it's emblem, as told during a computer game.
I have tried to research my writing as well as I can. Any other mistakes or factual or historical inaccuracies are my own.
I owe many thanks to words of encouragement from many others interested in this aspect of naval history and wargaming.
But any dedication belongs to the brave thousands on both sides, and from all countries, who lost their lives, or who suffered in perhaps the pivotal, most harsh and epic struggle of the War.
The Battle of the Atlantic.
Raoul de Bunsen

Let's face it, how is Heidi ever going to fall in love with a face like that...?
